Hotel Operations

A hotel’s own operations app: a live room board, housekeeping rules, fault response times, events, shift cover and guest complaints, each with an owner.

The business problem

Running a hotel day to day involves moments where small slips become guest complaints: a room checked in before it is clean, a cleaner entering before the guest has left, a fault that nobody owns, or two events booked into the same hall. Finance software rarely covers the running of the building.

The solution delivered

A working web application built around a fictional 45-room hotel. Every room has a live state derived from its booking, housekeeping task and any blocking fault. The app refuses the moves that cause complaints, such as checking into a room that is not ready or confirming an event with a short deposit, and watches response times. Each role sees the same live data filtered to its own job. Finance figures appear read-only, as a stand-in for a feed from the hotel’s existing finance app.

Main features

What it does.

01

Live room board

All rooms in one view, with arrivals and departures. Check-in is refused if the room is not ready.

02

Housekeeping rules

No clean while the guest is in the room, and turnovers are flagged and ranked first.

03

Maintenance

Faults carry response times by priority, and planned jobs are projected from days and running hours.

04

Events

Confirmation is refused for a short deposit, a space clash or too many guests.

05

Team and cover

Shift cover against minimums and a training matrix.

06

Guest voice

Every review and complaint gets an owner and a reply, and stale ones are flagged.

07

Role views

The same data filtered for front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, events or manager.

08

Data checks

Twelve rules look for what slipped. They only report; they never edit a record.

On a phone

Built to work on small screens too.

The same application adapts to a phone, so the people who need it can use it away from a desk.

Classink's contribution

Designed and built end to end by Classink: the room-state and rules logic, the web application, the role views, the Excel exports and the automated tests.

This is an internal Classink demonstration, not a paying client engagement. It runs on fictional, synthetic data, which the application states on every screen.
